Som formanden for komiéen motiverede advokat René Offersen valget bl..a.:
“Over the past three decades, Torsten Iversen has established himself as one of the most sought-after arbitrators in both Danish and international arbitrations — notably, in some of the most significant arbitrations. Torsten Iversen has long mastered the art of politely declining even the most attractive appointments.
This is not only because he can afford to be selective. As a professor, Torsten Iversen must, of course, also devote himself full-time to his work at the university.
It is precisely Torsten Iversen’s academic achievements that have been a key factor in his selection. Torsten Iversen has an exceptionally impressive list of publications in areas of law of particular importance to arbitration. It should be particularly emphasized that he is the author of authoritative works on the law of obligations and property law. His doctoral dissertation, Calculation of Damages in Contractual Relationships, deals with a subject at the very heart of commercial disputes: the assessment of damages for breach of contract.“
Og:
“ Torsten Iversen has also been instrumental in fostering an interest in arbitration among future Danish lawyers. He played an important role in establishing arbitration as an independent course of study at Aarhus University. In addition, he has supported the Vis Moot competition, in which Aarhus University has performed with distinction for more than 20 years.”
